The Photographer - William Meyer

William Meyer was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He moved to San Francisco in 1960 and became a career in the engineering field. Having always had an interest in art and graphic design, it was in 1980 that he began taking a few basic courses in photography & printing. He found that working with the camera provided an exciting and stimulating diversion from his then 20-year engineering career.

For the most part, Bill is self-taught, learning his craft through his constant involvement and perfecting his vision through trial and error. His love for the natural world and his dedication to the art form show in his work. He has an understanding of lighting and composition that results in images that are strong, yet simple and clean. The many years of practicing his craft have produced a body of work that is both vast and diverse.

Bill recently relocated to historic Louisiana, Missouri. As one of the many artists and craftsmen moving into the area, he finds that it is an ideal place to continue his photographic work.
